Martinique

I had to cross Atlantic ocean to arrive to European Union again. Martinique is France. I don`t like it here so much because everything is expensive, rhum is expensive and sometimes the people here show openly to you that you are not welcomed here. Well, it is understandable. The experience of slavery is still present in the memory of "local" people from Africa. Local local people were all killed during the french colonisation.
What I really liked here on Martinique was the rainforest and some beautiful beaches with lots of coconut palms. You can see that on my pictures. You can also see one local phenomena. It seems that the problem of old cars here is solved simply by letting them to compost...

Transat

So we have crossed the Atlantic ocean. I have already been on Martinique for two weeks but I am writing the blog right now just one or two days before levaving the island. Crossing ocean was very tranquilo. Weather was nice, no big waves, the engine was mostly working well, just the last day when we were arriving we could not start because we were watching movies and charging computers too much so we had no more battery. I also had a problem with the captain because I was eating too much but finally everything was good, we survived, we did not kill each other. The crossing from Cape Verde to Martinique lasted 20 days and we did approx 2200 miles. What was amazing is that even in the middle of the ocean we could see birds flying around.
